Viral Loops can be installed in your WordPress website very easily and here we will tell you all the available options you have!

Wordpress Plugin

The easiest way to install your Viral Loops campaign in your WordPress website is to use the Viral Loops plugin for WordPress.

The plugin adds a Viral Loops block to the Gutenberg editor (default WordPress editor) and to these page editors:

  • Elementor

  • Divi Builder

  • WPBakery

That way, installing your campaign is as simple as dragging and dropping the Viral Loops block in the page.

If you have issues with the WP Plugin we recommend you to upgrade to the latest version (3.4.0) and try it out on Elementor or the classic editor.

Instructions

  1. In your WordPress Admin, go to Plugins and click “Add New”. Find Viral Loops in the marketplace and install and activate it.

  2. Find Viral Loops on the left sidebar and add a new campaign. It will ask for your secret API token. You can find that in the Installation step of the Campaign Wizard. Only one campaign can be active at any time. (if you are using the Newsletter template, you can find the secret API token from the "Finish step" in the "Integrations" section. You will find "Campaign secret API token" there)

  3. Edit the page where you want to install your campaign.

  4. Find the Viral Loops block in the builder you are using (Gutenberg, Elementor, Divi, WP Bakery) and add it to the page. (if you are using the Newsletter template with Elementor, it will probably ask you for the secret API token now. Add it and proceed)

  5. From the dropdown that appears, select the widget that you want to add. The dropdown only shows widgets that are available for the template you have installed.

  6. Publish the page and you’re ready!

Visitors that get to the page will see the Viral Loops Widgets and can join the campaign or see rewards they have won.

Using shortcodes

If you are not using any of these page editors then you can also use shortcodes to embed the widgets in your WordPress pages. These are the relevant shortcodes for each Viral Loops widget:

Form Widget

[vl_form widget='embedForm']

Milestone Widget

[vl_form widget='milestoneWidget']

Popup Trigger

[vl_form widget='popupTrigger']

Referral Count Widget

[vl_form widget='referralCountWidget']

Reward Stats Widget (for Refer a Friend)

[vl_form widget='rewardStats']

Invitee Widget

[vl_form widget='inviteeForm']

Custom Installation

Viral Loops can be installed in your WordPress website very easily using the official Viral Loops plugin: Viral Loops WP Integration

However, if you don't want to use the plugin or you are seeing an unexpected error, follow these instructions form the Installation STEP of the WIZARD to make a custom installation on WordPress.

Choose "Custom Build"

Choose that option in the final STEP of The Installation of your campaign in Viral Loops.

Continue in Wordpress

The second step you need to do is to add a custom HTML block at the end of the page where you want to host the campaign:

This needs to be the same page (URL) that you have submitted on the Info step of the campaign wizard.

If the HTML block is not in your 'most used' options, search for it:

An HTML block appears that allows you to add HTML:

First, you need to paste the snippet from Installation Step on the HEAD:

Go to Installation STEP, select to Install the Viral Loops snippet on your website, and paste the code in the HEAD of your page:

Now, choose those options if you need them:

You also need to copy and paste the campaign snippet from the Referrer or Invitee Experience. It is found on the Installation step of the wizard, after selecting > "I'll do it myself":

Click on "See instructions for" or "Embed Widget button" -> Choose Custom Built (only if you see that option), and the snippet will pop up like this:

Some campaign editors (depending on the template) don't have the "See instructions for" drop-down so you just take the snippet you'll see below.

Click Update on WordPress and that's it! 🙌🏻

You can view the page and see that your campaign has been successfully installed. Yaaay

Elementor 2nd Option

In this article, you can find a short video tutorial, that we have created for our templates and will help you understand how you can connect a custom Elementor form, on your WordPress website to capture sign-ups.

Important! : This feature is available only if you wish the pro version of Elementor.

🤖 ..and... that's all for now 🤖
