Normally, the Viral Loops widgets are installed on a specific page that the user is being redirected in order to participate and start referring their friends.
Still, we got inspired from a customer of ours, who wanted to show the widgets to their users within a pop-up after a certain event.
Intercom provides the option to engage your users by sending them contextual auto messages at the right time with their auto messages feature. In addition, you can set up event tracking in Intercom.
We also provide a Viral Loops integration with Intercom via Zapier.
If you connect the dots, when a user lands on your site, you can enable the auto-participation in a Viral Loops campaign and that code could be sent as a custom attribute to their Intercom account.
On Intercom, set custom user trigger events (from your production database) and when a user reaches a certain point of engagement, you could do a page takeover pop up with their specific Viral Loops link (from the custom attribute).
Itโs very hacky, but this could also help you to gather data about when itโs best to hit a user with the viral prompt.
